“Here of Arezzo him I saw,
who fell by Ghino’s cruel arm“

Dante - Purgatory VI, 13/14.

The unique Fortress of Radicofani, on the Via Francigena, erstwhile fief of Ghino di Tacco, also mentioned by Dante, occupies the highest point of a hill, at 896 metres, while the battlemented terrace of the castle reaches no less than 960 metres. The castle stands out forcefully atop a spur of Mount Amiata, offering sweeping views across the unequalled landscape of the Val d'Orcia, and originally controlled the border between the Grand Duchy of Tuscany and the Papal States.

An authentic farm-stay experience, where you can enjoy the breathtaking countryside, interesting art and culture tours, delicious food and natural products.
